NOMINATION PROCEDURE
TO PROMOTE SCIENCE AND ART FOR THE BENEFIT OF MANKIND
THE NOMINATOR
Proposals of candidates for the prizes shall be accepted for consideration only if submitted by the following nominators: the President of a National Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the Rector of a University or any other Institution of higher learning, the Director of a Research Institute , the Dean of a Faculty or Head of Department in the field in which one of the prizes is awarded, the Director of a scientific or artistic organization or association, the Head of a Conservatory - in the field of Music, the Head of a Museum of Art - in the field of Painting or Sculpture, the recipient of a Wolf Prize - in his field, and scientists or artists if invited to submit candidates by the Foundation.
FIELD OF NOMINATION
A candidate can be nominated for only one of the following five specific fields of science: AGRICULTURE, CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATICS, MEDICINE and PHYSICS, or one of the following four fields of Arts: ARCHITECTURE, MUSIC, PAINTING and SCULPTURE.
The candidates shall be proposed in the NOMINATION FORM provided by the Foundation, and according to the Instruction sheet attached to it.
LIMITATIONS
The following limitations are imposed by our Rules : a person cannot be nominated by himself/herself; the prize is awarded to individuals, not institutions, and it is presented to the recipient in person in Jerusalem. The nominators are therefore requested not to propose any candidate who, to the best of their knowledge, may not be able to attend the Ceremony.
DEADLINE
Nominations should be received not later than August 31 in order to be reviewed for the forthcoming prize. Proposals received after this date shall be only considered in the following year .
